Best-in-class Drugs
Motif BioSciences is a specialized company applying the expertise of its team of senior drug discovery and development scientists to execute a focused research program using Lead Hopping as its core approach. The company is building on the publicly available knowledge of early lead structures and first –in- class drugs, and is leveraging the experience and insight of its team in improving on them to develop best-in-class new drug candidates.
Motif’s research projects have been selected using a rigorous set of criteria, designed to maximize their probability of success: validated targets, well understood lead compounds with addressable liabilities, proof of concept in man, tractable chemistry, potential clinical superiority, and I.P. freedom to operate.
Motif’s first five projects are in migraine, obesity, infectious disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and over active bladder. Each project is supported by a well articulated rationale and plan to develop a best-in-class new drug candidate within approximately four years.
The Motif drug discovery team is based in the United States and is partnering with specialized companies in India, China, and elsewhere to conduct the chemistry, biology, and pre-clinical development of its programs.
Motif intends to partner out its best-in-class new drug candidates to pharmaceutical companies for further development once proof of concept in man is achieved.
